Fridge To Go Cooler 6 Can Soda Beer Lunch Box 8 Hours (Colors My Vary) Review

This cooler bag is advertised as being good for baby bottles. I completely disagree. Baby bottles are usually taller and wider than soda cans. At most, you can fit 2 baby bottles. The other selling feature is the duration that it keeps things cold. It has has 3 gel ice pak panels, but there's a disadvantage there. The panels are extremely thin (about 1/4" thick) and will thaw much faster than any gel ice pak that you may have at home. The last reason this doesn't work for baby bottles is that you will inevitably have spilled milk in the cooler bag. The liner here isn't waterproof. Milk soaks right through from the inside to the outside of the bag. I've never had a cooler bag that's wet on the outside due to a spill inside. The label says you can't wash it in your washing machine and can only wipe with a cloth. So if you have milk that passed through the liner then you're stuck with that foul smell.

PROS----
* Lead-free liner (But not unique here. I've seen some cheap $7.99 cooler bags at my Rite Aid pharmacy that also advertise themselves as being lead free).

CONS----
* Milk can soak right through from the inside to the outside of the cooler. Milk will stink and cannot be be cleaned in this case.
* Cooling gel panel are thin and don't provide as much cooling duration as your traditional, thick gel ice pak.
* The advertised feature of throwing the whole cooler bag in the freezer to cool it (without needing to unzip the cooling panels) isn't a very good strategy. For one thing, how clean can this cooler bag be (especially if it can never be machine washed?).
* Too small for more than 2 baby bottles (or 1 baby bottle and 1 container of baby food).
* Expensive ($30+)

SUMMARY----
I bought this bag to replace a cheap one that I bought at a convenience store (which had a tear in its waterproof liner and was getting smelly). The Fridge to Go was a poor replacement for holding baby bottles. For the price of it, I should have gone and bought 3-4 of the cheap convenience store ones and toss them as they got smelly or leaky.
