Several years ago we ordered a Masterbuilt Electric Veranda Grill from QVC.It looked great and would heat to about 450-500F but then promptly cool down.You could get a semi-decent sear on meat if you opened the lid, quickly threw the meat on and slammed the lid shut.Over time it started to lose heating capacity so we ordered a replacement heating element and plug. However, this did not help so we figured something internally was worn out.We just ordered a new unit from Amazon.It arrived today and after I spent 30 minutes assembling it noticed it was more cheaply constructed that the previous grill.I then plugged it in.It will not heat above 325F.
