I like the fact that the lid allows for grilling thicker sandwiches, etc. I especially like being able to place food on the grill while it lays flat, then tilt it so that the fat drains away. My only complaint might be that the grill is a bit small. The two I had before (which I passed on to other family members) had larger grilling areas, which I miss. Other than that, I am perfectly satisfied with this purchase.
