Presto 05511 Quick Burger 400-Watt Nonstick Hamburger Cooker Review

I've only used this appliance a dozen times in a couple of weeks, so it might malfunction tomorrow, but. . .
In the first place, mine heats up very quickly, so I've begun putting my hamburger or sausage in it after about 30-60 seconds. It cooks ground sausage - like Owens brand - like a dream. Hamburger or sausage, you just place amound of meat in the center and lock down the top.The heating element is only in the top, so if appearance is important to you, flip the patty after a couple of minutes.Sausage is done perfectly, as are the hamburgers.I haven't tried frozen patties, because I prefer the taste of fresh.

Several Months Later Update:

Oh, poor me.This little appliance didn't live up to my expectations (after I bought a second one!)For one thing, the non-stick coating started coming off. Then the handle broke.Too bad.Unfortunately I cannot change the rating to fewer stars, but if I could I would have to reduce it to one star.

Landmann Scroll Series 30-Inch Copper Fire Pit with Spark Guard Review

This is our second unit. The first one lasted outside, used at least 75 times a year for 7 years. This is a very sturdy, safe fire pit. The bowl is high enough off the deck that we have used a bbq mat from Ace hardware and the deck does not even get warm to the touch underneath. The opening screen is the only way to go, it makes loading safe ( no hot screen swinging around ), and easy. We just bought the new one because the copper stared to get a little thiner than I liked, and the steel grate was warped after some rather large fires. Good Stuff, very happy with this unit.

Replacement Flavorizer Bars 7536, Set of 5, 22.5" Review

I inherited a 12 year old weber from my dad. The flavorizor bars were all rusty. I replaced them with these and got a new ss burner, and the grill is like new again. Well worth the money.

Additional Info:
My weber was old enough that I couldn't find the specs for the original parts. These bars ended up being an inch too long. I simply cut them down with an angle grinder. My grill was 23" from end to end (the part you actually cook in) and it took 21.5" bars FYI. Main point: if you have an older grill and can't find the specs, don't be lazy like me, actually take out an old bar and measure it.

Smokenator 1000 & Hovergrill Kit Review

If you love slow and low BBQ but only have a Weber kettle, this is the product for you. I can now control the temperature to as low as 185 degrees and have it stay there for up to 6 ½ hours, without having to add any charcoal.The water reservoir does need to be filled approximately every 70 minutes but the BBQ turns out nice and juicy, just like the pros do it.

The top rack is great for those occasions where you want to BBQ for a crowd, although it does get about 10 to 15 degrees hotter than the bottom rack.

All and all I'm extremely pleased with this product and two of my friends where so impressed that they ended up buying one for themselves.

Aztec Combi Grill/Sandwich/Waffle Review

PROS:
- I liked the changeable cook surfaces but the locking mechanism could be better.
- Small.
- Cook plates can be easily hand washed.

CONS:
- Difficult to clean exterior.
- Small. Don't plan to cook for more than one person.
- An Easy Bake Oven has more cooking power.

Returned it after first use.

Cool looking but I would not recommend this to anyone.The heating element is not nearly as powerful as it needs to be. I tried to make waffles, preheated the thing on max, and it just wouldn't cook them. After about 15-20mins of cooking I gave up. It produced a soggy, pale, spongy waffle.

Nostalgia HDC-701 Carnival Hot-Dog Cart with Umbrella Review

This was a huge hit at my last family get-together. It makes great hot dogs, and does a nice job of keeping everything warm. The directions on how to assemble were awful. My husband had a hard time, because it came with a lot of screws, etc.-it just doesn't go into to detail on how to put it together. It does come with a nice cover for when it's not in use.
Everyone seemed to like making their own hot dog their way. We had a great time with it, and we think it will be a hit at our backyard carnival.

The grill is a great idea.Unfortunately, the design of the grill side is very poor.There is a burner across the back and three burners projecting from this back burner (essentialy an M shape).This means that the back of the burner is always much hotter than the front of the burner. Furthermore, with only three burners projecting from the rear there are "cool" spots between the burners. In fact, from a hot spot perspective, this is the worst grill I have owned.

A $1000 Kenmore grill did a much better job.

I contacted the local Napoleon dealer and paid to have one of their repairman come out to look at the grill.He suggested buying a Lynx if I wanted to eliminate hot spots - I am not kidding.

Camp Chef SG90 Deluxe steel fry griddle Review

Super-heavy construction, and preseasoned to boot.This is as close to a commercial griddle surface as you'll ever take outdoors camping.

Did I mention heavy?It's 29 freaking pounds!Gobs of thermal mass...I took it out to a big picnic of foodies, and we ran a bacon tasting (15-20 pounds of multiple bacon brands, cooked under cast-iron bacon presses) with superb results.

Not mentioned in the product description: the grease gutter incorporates a drain hole, and the product includes a wire cage to hang a steel can from as a grease catch.Nice.

Camp Chef Sport Utility ATS-50T Aluminum Table Top Sport Stove, Black/Aluminum Review

I've used the older model of this stove previously and had been very impressed. This lighter weight, updated version should have been even better. However its design is highly problematic and I ended up returning it. Thanks to Amazon's great return policy I didn't even have to pay to ship it back (since the stove was dysfunctional from the start). The two problems I encountered was a pressure regulator safety device that was so sensitive it was very tricky to even get the stove to light. Camp Chef ended up sending me a new regulator, which worked better, though was still rather sensitive.

The second problem was worse, and I suspect due to a design issue. After the burner was lit and on high for a minute or two, and then lowered to a low setting the flame would initially go low, as expected, but then all of sudden the flame would practically disappear, and the burner would begin to roar very loudly, like a minature jet engine. The burner plate would then turn bright orange, brighter than if the burner was even set to high. At the same time I would occasionally see a flame jump into the gas feed tube. Kinda scary. Note - Camp Chef support staff had no explanation for what was causing this problem.

I know these are supposed to be great stoves, so I am going to try their cast iron burner model, since I believe its an older, and more established design.

Oh yeah, one more thing, this stove puts out 20k btu, not 25k as described.

Presto Tilt'nDrain Cool Touch Griddle Review

we bought this griddle to replace another one we have just used up.The old one kept burning our food, so it was time to replace it.So far, this one is working greatly, cooking everything evenly and quickly.We are very careful not to use metal utensils on it to ensure not scratching the surface.Hopefully we will get a lot of use out of this one, and the Tilt n Drain feature is cool, except the hole that the oil drains into could be a bit larger.

DeLonghi CGH800 Retro Collection Retro Panini Grill Review

It works perfectly well.I have two minor complaints.One is that there is no real on/off switch.If you have it plugged in, and the heat dial at minimum, it still heats.That's important to be aware of.It's not your ordinary toaster, which doesn't do anything unless you push down the slider.Second problem is MUCH less important.The clip that's supposed to hold the top and bottom together in storage is totally worthless.Just don't depend on it.
That being said, it works very nicely as a panini press.The lid is flexible, and has a heat proof spot where you can tilt it to accomodate the thickness of your panini.The heat dial is generally accurate, so if you follow your instincts or the little cookbook, things turn out well.It's easy to clean up.I don't have enough room on the counter to let it out, but like most DeLonghi stuff, the style is very nice.

This Black & Decker electric skillet is an inferior product.Twenty days after purchase, the lid shattered during cooking, scattering glass across the food and nearby counter.Two calls to the customer service line were cut off before talking to a live person.E-mail to same have not been responded to after five days.In addition, heat across the surface of the pan is extremely uneven.Needed a replacement for a 10 year+ Presto pan that was loosing its non-stick effectiveness.Have already ordered a Presto replacement!

SMOKER/GRILL GOURMET BLK Review

So far, I've done briskets, pork shoulders, chickens, turkeys and salmon, and everything has turned out grat. It's easy to use, easy to feed and keeps food moist; the water pan works as a buffer.

The review would be 5 stars except that the temperature gague says "warm" "ideal" and "hot," but neither the manual nor the company knows exactly what temperature range those words correspond to.I actually contacted them and asked, and the answers I got were imprecise.

I've found, for example, that "ideal" is great for doing a chicken in 2-3 hours, but you want it at the high end of "warm" cooler if doing brisket for 10-12.Otherwise, though, no complaints.

George Foreman GRP99 Grill, Grilleration Review

I got this based on the fact that you can put the grill plates in the dishwasher, HOWEVER, beware, they oxidize in the dishwasher. Meaning the back of the cooking plates, turn blak and wipe off on your towels, hands, ect. I called the manufactor and said this is normal, and i shouldnt wash them in the dishwaher very often. So much for convience!

Other than that problem, it cooks awesome! I loved the temp control and timer. Great Features!! Plus it held 6 burgers!

I would buy this again, but would never put it my dishwasher.
I will always wash by hand.

Keg-A-Que Propane Portable Grill - Model# 10104R Review

Do not buy from this seller. Especially this item. Apparently, this is a table top grill, not with this stand that is shown in the picture. All it comes with is 2 metal legs to put on your table, not the big black stand with wheels and table top extensions. I called Northern Tool and Equipment and they told me that this only is a table top grill. So, I asked them why do they show the black stand. They said the black stand is not shown in their catalog, so there was nothing they would do about it. They told me to call amazon. I did, and they resolved it right away. NOrthern Tool and Equipment was extremely rude on the phone, as if it was my fault that they listed their items for sale wrong on amazon. I don't think that amazon put up the wrong picture, they were given the wrong picture. So, in the future, dont purchase from this company, unless you are able to match what you are getting up to their catalog, in which case I assume you wouldnt be using amazon? Very unsatisfied.

Old Smokey Electric Smoker Review

Sometimes, I tell myself sternly, you don't *have* to get obsessed. I could have spent a lot more money for a smoker, but I wasn't sure that I'm committed to this kind of cooking. The Old Smokey was our compromise between the really cheap, rickety smokers we saw in the hardware store and the "serious" models that cost over $200. And it was the right choice.

After using it three or four times, I'm really glad I chose this model. The operation is simple, and the equipment was put together without cussing. The workmanship is good; this thing won't fall apart.

I had a friend sneer at our choice of an *electric* smoker, but nobody has complained about the food that came out of it. Its convenience can't be beat: we plugged it in outside, and we could walk away. I didn't have to worry about running out of propane or loading up more charcoal. (Of course, we _didn't_ walk away... we came back ever so often to mop the brisket. But I didn't have to fuss.)

The smoker has two shelves, each of which (I can say assertively) can easily hold a 10-pound shoulder of pork or an 8-pound brisket. It's a good size, does the job it advertises, and it's made well. I'd buy it again.

While the grill works well overall it has one huge design flaw. When it rains water collects in the grease trap. I sent Weber pictures of one such instance in which a rainfall of 0.12 inches translated into about a half inch of water in the trap. During a more significant storm it is not uncommon for the trap to overflow and spill grease all over the grill and out to the deck. After that good luck getting the water and grease filled trap filled to a sink without further making a mess along the way. I wrote to Weber and sent them pictures explaining the problem . Their claim is this is not a "design flaw." I will let you be the judge if a $2000 grill should have this problem or not. As for me? My next grill is unlikely to be a Weber.

Camp Chef RCB90 Deluxe roller carry bag Review

This bag is very nice.It has handles on both ends, and rolls - which is great because the stove inside is VERY HEAVY!But, it's not meant to also carry the flat 2-burner griddle that came with the stove (you're supposed to purchase an additional bag for that - but we made ours fit in this one).It also doesn't have handles on the long sides so that you can carry it like a suitcase - you have to either have a really long arm-span or roll it.

Overall, for what it is meant to do, it is a good, sturdy bag.Just know that it has little extra room and could use an extra handle.

Bradley Smoker Bisquettes, 48 Pack (Choose Flavor) Review

I bought the Bradley Smoker as a present for my self after paying off a debt. I was saddened to learn the Bradley smoker doesn't come with "token" bisquettes.... I didn't know what to get so I bought the "Bradley Special Blend" I read the Bradley recipe for Pork Roast... I did what needed to be done the day before... I got up at 1:30 AM and started smoking a 10 lb Pork Roast. 12 short hours later I became what is now known as A GOD AMONG lesser MEN. I proved it was not a flake when I made smoked Turkey Legs and fed them to folks who don't like Turkey Legs. I was harassed for days until I agreed to make MORE SMOKED TURKEY LEGS for folks who don't like Turkey Legs. And the Brisket! Men fall to their knees in awe and women plant flowers where ever I intend to walk to soften the blow of my steps because of how incredibly awesome the Brisket turned out!

I took all the credit, but the "Bradley Special Blend" is what did all the heavy lifting.

Thanks to the "Bradley Special Blend" I can now walk down the isles at the local Wal Mart where Men hide their faces in shame and women offer to pick out my produce.

In all due honesty... the "Bradley Special Blend" is a very nice general purpose blend that goes pretty well with everything. I have done loads of beef, pork, chicken, turkey, lamb, goat, and even bass and crapie. I always keep it on hand for when their isn't enough Apple to do this, or Hickory to do that... I'm not kidding, it's the Get The JOB Done Blend in my house and NO ONE ever complains.

And that is a Fact!
